Mito Kaidō was an old ''kaidō'' in Japan and a subroute to the Edo Five Routes. It was built to connect Edo with Mito in modern-day Ibaraki Prefecture. Travelers from Edo called it Mito Kaidō, but travelers from Mito called it Edo Kaidō. The ''kaidō's'' path is traced by the modern National Route 6.〔(Chiba Kokaidō Rekishi Sanpo ).
